New training pitches at Cottingham
Premier Pitches secured the second phase of training ground works following successful completion of fibre sand pitch works carried out in 2014.
The project involved the construction of a hybrid training pitch to replace the existing fibre sand surface, construction of a new hybrid pitch plateau, and construction of a new fibre sand goalkeeping area.
The scope of works comprised:
- Cut and fill earthworks to regrade the existing plateau over 3.5 pitches
- Installation of new drainage, irrigation and undersoil heating systems
- Import and spread new gravel drainage raft, lower sand profile and upper rootzone layer
- Preparation and seeding of pitch surface, including installation of amendments and fertilisers
- Installation of SISGrass hybrid pitch reinforcement system
- Installation of new boundary fences and ball stop fencing.
The works were carried out during the close season in summer 2015.
